The revitalization of the historic 47-acre Liberty Campus, formerly the Grand Island Veterans Home which opened in 1888, is centrally focused on addressing the community's need for affordable housing. The initial effort, the affordable housing, introduces 46 affordable units specifically for seniors with a preference given to veterans and their families. This campus also includes plans for further development including office, workforce housing, and renovated greenspace. out priority is carefully preserving and rehabilitating the existing historic structures while honoring the campus's legacy.
